You are not defined by the number on the scales, or the scars on your arms, or the gender you choose to fall in love with, or the color of your skin, or the people who hurt you. You are defined by what’s inside, and what you believe in. Never forget that, you are beautiful.

I’ve found that I lost who I was inside when I truly gave in to my eating disorder. My whole identity revolved around food and weight, and the self inside me disappeared. Now that I’m in recovery, it’s hard to remember who I once was, or if that person was even the real me. But I do believe that I can find myself again, and that woman will be much better than before.
